Save. Save. Save. - Power Smart Coupons, Rebates and Incentives

British Columbians can save hundreds of dollars a year by following some easy energy-saving tips, as well as by utilizing BC Hydro’s coupons, rebates and incentives. Here are just a few examples:

• If you have a fridge in working condition in your home that you are no longer using, BC Hydro will send a representative to your house, take your refrigerator away, have it recycled, and give you $30 for it.
• Heating can account for more than half your home's energy bill and up to one-third of the heat from your home can escape through windows. Here are some current window promotions.

	Replace your old windows with ENERGY STAR® windows, and save seven per cent by not paying PST. In addition, with the recent announcement of the home renovation tax credit (HRTC) you can receive up to $1,350 in tax relief for your window upgrades.
	Install Vinyltek ENERGY STAR windows and you do not need to make any payments, including interest, until January 2010. Offer expires May 31, 2009.
	Install any ENERGY STAR Andersen Window, and Andersen Windows will pay the GST. Offer expires May 31, 2009.
	Replace your energy-wasting windows with Centra’s eco-Smart ENERGY STAR windows and receive savings of up to 25%. Offer expires June 30, 2009.

• BC Hydro Power Smart is offering in-store instant discounts on ENERGY STAR light fixtures and ENERGY STAR specialty CFL bulbs.
• Receive a $25 - $50 mail-in rebate when you purchase an ENERGY STAR clothes washer, refrigerator or freezer before June 30, 2009.
